The devil is in the details

4–6 minutes

First, I would like to say that this is not a political blog post page. But some patterns have emerged, and my faith and belief in Jesus Christ will not allow me to stay silent on this. Please read this with an open heart and understand that my only goal is to spread the word of God, heal the hurting hearts of good Americans, And try to bring about a revival of the country are founding fathers set out to create – something we are so far from at this point.

In the fiery rhetoric of American politics, it’s easy to paint entire parties with a broad brush. Not every Democrat is a mustache-twirling villain straight out of a theological thriller. Many are sincere folks wrestling with compassion, community, and the chaos of modern life. But parties aren’t people—they’re platforms, power structures, and promises etched in policy. And when you stack the Democratic Party’s historical ledger and current agenda against the unchanging Word of God, a pattern emerges: a consistent drift from biblical truth toward what Scripture warns as the enemy’s deceptions. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us our fight isn’t against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil. Let’s examine the evidence, not with glee, but with sober discernment.

Start with history, where the Democratic Party’s roots tangle deep in the soil of sin. Founded in the 1820s as a champion of states’ rights, it quickly became the bulwark of slavery. Before the Civil War, Democrats insisted slavery was a constitutional right, left to the states—a euphemism for human bondage sanctified by law. The 1856 and 1860 platforms explicitly defended the “peculiar institution,” with Southern Democrats splitting the party over expanding it westward. When war erupted, it was Confederate Democrats who fired on Fort Sumter, defending a system that treated image-bearers of God (Genesis 1:27) as chattel. Post-war, they opposed Reconstruction, birthed the Ku Klux Klan to terrorize freed slaves, and enshrined Jim Crow segregation. Lynchings, poll taxes, and literacy tests weren’t footnotes; they were Democratic policy in the Solid South. Even into the 20th century, Southern Democrats filibustered civil rights bills. The 1964 Civil Rights Act passed only after 21 Democrats joined Republicans to break the cloture—many of those “Dixiecrats” later switched parties when the national Democrats embraced integration. This wasn’t mere politics; it defied Galatians 3:28’s vision of equality in Christ, propping up racial hierarchies the devil delights in dividing.

Fast-forward to today, where the party’s 2024 platform doubles down on positions that mock God’s design for life, family, and justice. On abortion, Democrats pledge to codify Roe v. Wade, enshrining “reproductive freedom” as a federal right—euphemism for ending unborn lives up to birth in some cases. This clashes head-on with Exodus 20:13’s “You shall not murder,” treating the preborn (Psalm 139:13-16) as disposable. Over 60 million abortions since Roe aren’t statistics; they’re souls the party champions as “choice.” Similarly, LGBTQ+ policies demand full affirmation: marriage redefinition, gender transitions for minors, and bans on conversion therapy. Genesis 1:27 and Matthew 19:4-6 declare male and female as God’s binary creation, marriage as sacred union. Yet Democrats push drag queen story hours in schools and hormone blockers for kids, echoing the serpent’s whisper: “Did God really say…?” (Genesis 3:1).

Gun control? The platform calls for assault weapon bans, universal background checks, and red-flag laws—well-intentioned curbs on violence, but they encroach on Second Amendment self-defense, which echoes biblical mandates to protect the vulnerable (Nehemiah 4:14), and they ignore the fact that criminals don’t care about laws. If they want a gun, they will get a gun.

Immigration reform sounds humane: paths to citizenship for Dreamers, ending family separations. But open-border advocacy ignores Romans 13:1-2’s respect for just laws, straining resources and enabling trafficking that preys on the weak—devilish disorder amid calls for “sanctuary” over sovereignty. They are actively working to subvert laws in our country and targeting those who are enforcing those laws.

And euthanasia? While not a headline plank, Democratic-led states like California and New York have expanded assisted suicide laws, framing despair as dignity. This “death with dignity” defies Job 1:21’s sovereignty of life and death belonging to God alone, offering a shortcut the enemy loves. Many countries who have embraced assisted suicide laws have allowed insurance companies to deny treatments for curable ailments due to cost, but present physician assisted suicide as a covered option. Unacceptable.

Not all Democrats endorse every plank—pro-life ones like Democrats for Life fight from within. But the devil doesn’t need universal buy-in; he thrives in institutional drift. As Jesus said in Matthew 7:15-20, judge by fruits. The Democratic Party’s tree has borne bitter ones: from chains to clinics, segregation to surgeries. Christians, vote your conscience, but align with truth. The devil’s most certainly a Democrat—not in name, but in nature. May God grant wisdom to redeem what politics corrupts!

Believe me, I am just as upset at the Republicans who stayed silent and allowed all these things to occur as I am at the Democrats, who have been doing these things and continue to defend them day and day out.

Our only hope to survive as a nation, and certainly our only hope to enter into the kingdom of heaven, is to turn to Jesus Christ and repent of our sins. No one will live a perfect life as Jesus did but it is our job to love one another, protect children, protect the vulnerable and to trust in God’s plan. It’s not our place to know God’s plan and it doesn’t mean you’re not a believer if you sometimes experience doubt. In fact, in many ways, I believe that faith relies on a certain amount of doubt. That is what the word of God is for to relieve us of our doubt and to give us encouragement and strength in our most desperate times. No doubt, this is a desperate time!

God bless you and remember the best way to have a great day is to go out and make someone else’s day great! If it’s just a smile, holding a door open, a compliment or a hug. Do something nice for someone!
